Welcome to the magic issue! In our interview section, we chat with Shelby McFadden, our friend and former magazine designer, about her blossoming art practice. Sarah Potter shares what it's like to be an artsy witch and shares ways artists can incorporate more magic in their studio practice. Our writers take the topic even deeper and inside this section you will find interviews with Rhonda Wheatley, Josie Close and Lucas Bononi.
Welcome to issue #34!
200 pages
What does magic mean to you? In this issue, we asked our artists and writers to share how they approach magic in their work and everyday life. Magic can be found when opening a new book with a fresh cup of morning coffee, that satisfying feeling of getting in the flow at the studio or a personal spiritual practice or ritual. There are no wrong ways to sprinkle a little bit of magic into our lives.
I personally find magic in manifesting epic experiences, such as landing a big project or painting for my dream exhibition, just as much as spending quiet time with my morning gratitude journal and being in nature with my partner and dog.
You may also notice how delicious it is to crack open a brand new magazine and dive into its glossy pages, part of the reason for why I'm so passionate about indie publishing, despite its many challenges.
