Superfine Art Fair is back in New York City from Thursday, September 15 through Sunday, September 18 at The Market Line [202 Broome Street between Norfolk and Suffolk]. The Fall edition of this contemporary fair will highlight the work of over 135 local, national and international artists. Covering an expansive 30,000 square feet of exhibition and activation space, the fair invites art lovers and collectors to discover 1,500+ artworks ranging in price from $50-$3,000, with the most expensive pieces capped at $10K. Here are 8 artists you'll find at the show:
1. Chris Minard
Chris Minard paints and draws and lives and works in New York City. He maintains a studio in Long Island City, a couple blocks south of the Queensboro Bridge.
2. Andrea Bartine Caldarise
Andrea Bartine Caldarise is a painter exploring memories through the language of landscape. Inspired by transitional moments in her environment, her studio practice examines the psychological connection between places and people. Caldarise received a BFA in painting and art history at Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University and an MA from the University of Pennsylvania. She exhibits her artwork in Philadelphia and New York, she lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
3. Deeann Rieves
Deeann is a contemporary artist working with mixed media, acrylic, and abstraction. She attended the Memphis College of Art and now lives and works in Nashville, TN.
4. Cid Roberts
Cid Roberts is a New York-based visual artist and photographer originally from Los Angeles. Self-taught, Roberts discovered his passion for photography at six-years old, documenting important life events with youthful intrigue. For twenty-five years, he enjoyed a successful career in Musical Theater and Dance, traveling the world and now focusing his camera on intimate behind-the-scenes details. In 2017, Roberts transitioned to photography as a career, when he documented his walks around New York City- one photo every day for a year- culminating in a book of photos, “I Walk These Streets.”. The project was prompted by a painful breakup with his longtime partner. Photography became therapeutic, encouraging Roberts to capture his external world through the lens of his introspective journey as a gay Latinx man. His work since has been published in Vanity Fair, Musee Magazine, W42ST Magazine, Artist Talk Magazine, New York City Style Guide, and in his published books Projections, and All This Change Is Making Me Wet: Photos of SoHo during public unrest amidst civil and racial injustice. He is an Art Show International award recipient and his New York City exhibitions include shows at Van Der Plas Gallery, La Ventana 533, Superfine Art Fair, Highline Open Studios, West Chelsea Artists Open Studios, Art Club New York, and ArtExpo New York. He currently works and lives in Chelsea, Manhattan with his dog Bastian.
5. Liana Z. Weber
Weber received her bachelors degree in art with a focus on painting from the University of Nevada, Reno. A year after graduating, Weber moved to her father's hometown of Innsbruck, Austria. Several months into her stay she suffered a traumatic hand injury, severing most of the tendons and nerves in her right hand. While the operation was successful, months of physical therapy was needed to regain proper movement and feeling; therapy which also included regular drawing. Immediately her love and passion for the medium was rekindled and she decided to make it her business. Over the past five years she has expanded her portfolio from her atelier in Innsbruck & built her art into a successful e-commerce brand. Her work has been exhibited globally in both group & solo shows, as well as recognized & featured in Bäng Magazine (Spring 2019) & King House Art Magazine (Dec. 2020). Her work was a finalist in the King House Gallery "The Year Is 2020" art exhibition.
6. Marce King
Marce is a portrait and figurative artist based in Australia. In their work, Marce currently utilizes drawing and painting mediums, however, they are also passionate about printmaking, majoring in Lithography at University. Marce's first Solo Exhibition was in 2006 at Brunswick Street Gallery in Melbourne, Victoria. Marce has gone on to have multiple solo shows in Melbourne, Bendigo and Ballarat and participated in many group shows in Australia, Europe and online. Marce obtained a Bachelor of Visual Arts degree from Latrobe University, graduating with distinction and winning the graduate award at the end of their degree. The graduate award was a scholarship that allowed them to travel through Europe creating art and exploring the world for a number of years. This experience had a profound influence on their practice and cemented their love of art and their chosen subject matter of the human form.
7. Tangeline
Tori Angeline, AKA Tangeline (b.1983) is a self-taught contemporary/pop artist. Born in Curitiba Brazil and a world traveler at a young age, Tangeline grew up between Miami and Queens New York but now lives in Maryland. Tangeline exhibited at a variety of festivals and fairs nationally in Miami, New York, Baltimore, Chicago and Annapolis.
8. Ryan Hastings
Ryan Hastings is an artist based in Seattle.
