Bio:

Sara Lutz’s body of work focuses on the combination of realism and abstraction, resulting in anywhere from moody, classical pieces to punny pop art. In 2009, Lutz graduated summa cum laude from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Painting and minor in Museum Studies. She is now a full-time artist in Detroit, Michigan working mainly on commissions for clients nationwide. Sara strives to make artwork more accessible by offering prints of her original paintings along with art-adorned apparel and accessories.

Artist Statement:

“Glam,” like art itself, is very subjective. My initial thought of glamour involves images of high fashion, flawless makeup, and glossy interiors. My second thought is the high price tag involved with all three. While flashy and glittering designs are perhaps more synonymous with glam, the “quiet luxury” aesthetic currently ranks supreme in today’s style. The pieces I have selected for this exhibit theme reflect the overall lifestyle associated with quiet luxury and tell the story of an affluent and glamorous day to day. Birkin bags, horseback riding, afternoon cocktails, and being surrounded by classic artwork are all, to me, quintessential glam.
