Originally from suburban Chicago, Sara Frantz lives and works in California. She earned her MFA in Painting from the University of Texas at Austin (2007) and a BS from the University of Wisconsin–Madison (2003). Her drawings and paintings explore the false barriers that create more imagined than real distances between two points of view. Solo exhibitions include "I May Bury Things in Sand and Snow," Pamela Walsh Gallery, Palo Alto (2022), "Safety in the Shade," Left Field Gallery (2020), and "Polarities of Banality," Muriel Guepin, New York City (2017). Additionally, she has participated in artist residencies at Cow House Studios in Ireland, Vermont Studio Center, and NES Residency in Iceland.
