Based in West Wales, UK, Rose is inspired predominantly by the natural world, particularly the smaller things which can go unnoticed or be disregarded by others. Through the medium of painting and drawing, she creates delicate, yet expressive pieces that aim to provoke in an understated way with empathy and intrigue. Originally trained as an illustrator, Rose is now a recognized artist within the fine art world, exhibiting in numerous places across the globe, and creating work for such clients as the BBC and London’s Natural History Museum.

These images are from a small series of works inspired by Roses time in the US and Canada. Each animal was found within the landscape they are painted upon; the artist’s own photographs transferred onto paper. Here, Rose plays with scale, questioning the importance of the creature's place within its environment, and highlighting that no matter how big or small, each and every being is part of the bigger picture; part of our existence in the world.
