Bio

Alanna Vanacore is an American artist born in the small beach town of Ormond Beach, Florida. At a young age, her passion for art flourished while watching her mother paint. It was in these moments that she developed an eye for detail and color. Alanna went on to study drawing and painting, earning her Bachelor's in Fine Arts from The University of North Florida. Shortly after graduating, she decided to move to New York City to pursue a career in art. Her paintings, from the more realistic to the nearly abstract, showcase Alanna’s ever-growing range as an artist. Much of Alanna's work invites playful whimsy into the everyday. She is currently living and working in Brooklyn, New York.

When did your interest in art begin vs. when you began thinking of it as a career/life choice?
I really started to take art seriously in middle school. I always knew I wanted to be a full-time artist and I finally took the jump back in 2020.
What draws you to your particular subject matter?
Beauty, complexity, textures, and light!

What interest of yours (outside of art) ends up influencing your practice the most?
Nature, music, and FOOD!  
What is one piece of advice you wish you could give your younger self?
Practice self-discipline! Stop doubting yourself and just START. Small actions everyday lead to big results
What would you say is your biggest goal for this year?
My biggest goal is to get in more gallery shows.
