My home and residence is now Milford, Delaware since 2012. I am a native New Englander where I attended The University of Massachusetts receiving a BFA in Art Education in 1977 and an MFA in Painting in 1986.  I have been professionally active exhibiting my paintings since 1978. Some shows have taken me as far away as Seoul Korea during the 1988 Olympics, The Republic of Macedonia in 1994, gallery shows in the US Virgin Islands and many group and solo shows across the country and on the East coast.

Most of my art career path has been centered in teaching. I was a full-time instructor of painting and design for thirty-five years at the Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, MA. I taught summers at Maine College of Art in Portland, ME and instructional Painting Workshops all over Europe thru il.Chiostro and Snow Farm the New England Craft Center. I loved interacting with all students and always felt I could learn from them as much as they learned from me.

A turning point in my painting life’s work was when I received a Faculty Enrichment grant in 2010. I flew to Vancouver British Columbia for a month to research the artist, I love who was the Canadian painter, Emily Carr. I am a painter of my natural surroundings such as waterways, plant life, and landscapes. This experience visiting The Vancouver Gallery and Carr’s home in Victoria stabilized and clarified the direction my work would be taking. This powerful life force in nature. I love painterly brushwork and color which is important to me as well as the energy and vibration between the forms of plant life, water, sky, landscape and creating that visual surface tension between them all.
