Kaylee Reynolds (b.1997) is a New York-based painter and digital artist born and raised in Jamaica. She developed her artistic approaches at New York University, where she received her BFA in Studio Art. Her exhibitions include Betwixt and Between, a collaboration between the NYU Institute of Fine Art and BFA Program, as well as a number of student-curated exhibitions.

Kaylee’s work seeks to empower the black figure, by exploring its movement in various vulnerable spaces in society, in order to unpack the realities faced by black individuals, to challenge the systems built against them, and ultimately, to celebrate our power and fortitude. She explores the movement and shapes we create with our bodies, by juxtaposing formal representations of black figures and portraits against or in the context of white, and other backgrounds and spaces. Her work also investigates the various individual yet intersecting experiences that are intertwined with her identity as a black woman who was born and raised in Jamaica, but who completed her undergraduate studies in the US. The experience has made her even more appreciative of her Jamaican culture and heritage, which has thoroughly informed her artistic practice.
