I am a visual artist living and working in Helsinki, Finland. My artistic practice is concentrated mainly on painting, drawing, and prose. I am fascinated by those moments of revelation that force us to look at the world in a different way.

My current works are based on the idea of an ideal world, a paradise. One of the greatest inspirations for my process is the painting Surprised! or Tiger in a Tropical Storm by Henri Rousseau (1844–1910).

A paradise is like a fairy tale, full of aesthetic features, full of joy and happiness. There is no fear nor danger. It is believed to be a place after death, a reward for life. A shelter. Simultaneously, the paradises I have described in my work foretell a storm, thus mirroring the current state of our society.
