Bio

Jody Asano is an Asian American artist currently based in Tokyo. She attended New York University and studied photography at Art Center College of Design. After years of working as a professional photographer, she transitioned to illustration. Her work has been used in editorial, advertising, textiles, packaging, animation, and commercials by clients around the world.

Statement

My entrance to illustration began after someone very close to my heart passed away. It profoundly impacted the way I wanted to live my life moving forward. I realized that I have this one life to live on this earth and I need to do what I want and love.
I am self-taught and today my personal work explores femininity as I encounter it in my day to day life and pop culture.
