Bio:

Dylan Gebbia-Richards received his BFA in Painting and his BA in Art History at the University of Colorado, Boulder. In 2018-19 he was included in The Beyond: Georgia O’Keeffe and Contemporary Art, which exhibited at The New Britain Museum of American Art, The North Carolina Museum of Art, and Crystal Bridges. In 2019 he attended the Joshua Tree Highlands Artist Residency and Bullseye Glass Residency. One of his installations is in the permanent collection at the Weisman Art Foundation in Los Angeles, California. In the past year, he has had solo presentations of his work in London and New York. His work has been featured in New American Paintings, Hyperallergic, and the New York Times.

Statement:

My painting process is driven by chance. Spontaneous interactions between different colors and shapes drive the piece forward. I am inspired by moments of luminescence I perceive in my environment. Through illusion, I attempt to capture lights ephemeral qualities in the landscape of my paintings.
