Statement
My work is about Place. For me, no space is permanent and home is not a fixed entity. Pulling from themes commonly found in German Romantic landscape painting, I create intensely personal portraits of quiet, meditative spaces that encourage contemplation and reflection. Using landscape as a ubiquitous device for investigating my personal history, I explore the desire to connect to nature, to long for shelter and to belong.
