Rebecca Amsellem is a researcher, an activist and an entrepreneur. She is the founder of French feminist newsletter Les Glorieuses and of Gloria Media, a media company which published four newsletters. She holds a PhD in economics. Her thesis, « Museums go international - new strategies, new business models », was published in September 2019 by Peter Lang Editions.

She also launched non-partisan pro-women political campaigns in France such a the #5Novembre16h47, the movement for equal pay and #StopPrécaritéMenstruelle to make organic menstrual products available in public places. She is currently working with the Red Cross Museum in Geneva to help create the first guide to make museums more feminist.

Rebecca Amsellem is also the author of « Les Glorieuses: chronicles of a feminist » (2018, Hoëbeke). In 20 chronicles, the author narrates the genesis of a feminist commitment that was constituted through those of illustrious women.

The fact that it brings me so much lightness and jubilation.

Optimistic.

What do you feel is the most challenging part of being an artist?

Calling myself one.

Tell us about something from your creative life that you are particularly proud of.

Discipline in the creative process is challenging for me - so when I discipline myself, I am very proud.
