Artist Statement

The artwork explores human connection with nature through the use of thinly veiled autobiographical paintings which also consider personal histories and domesticity. Beyond painting the work also manifests ceramics, illustration, printmaking, and quilting. Small moments are memorialized into artworks which offer moments of contemplation and stillness.

Bold colors, flattened spaces, patterning and exaggerated proportions create worlds just removed from reality. The act of growing and tending gardens, directly influences the work where narrative moments are anchored by seasonality and other natural cycles.
