From March 13th -24th, Alissa Everett documented humanitarian response efforts in Ukraine on the Ukrainian border with The International Organization for Migration (IOM). Californian born, Kenya-based Everett has been working for two decades documenting humanitarian issues traveling alone as a female photographer. Her work has taken her to over 130 countries across six continents. Since 2003, she has covered conflict and ethnic issues that remain in Iraq, Darfur, Gaza, South Sudan, Afghanistan, and DR Congo to name a few. Her exhibition Covering Beauty opens from 6-8pm next Thursday, April 21st, which will be part of Personal Structures at the European Cultural Centre, Palazzo Bembo, Riva del Carbon, 30124 Venice Italy.
