For our community blog this week, we’re pleased to share the work of Tricia Gilrein. Gilrein is an artist and arts administrator living and working in Boston. She has managed archival collections of art and fashion in the US and the UK for nearly two decades and holds degrees in art history, fine art, and museum studies. In addition to her arts education, she spent three years training under a master Tibetan thangka painter. Her work is strongly figurative and centers on the feminine. She employs a bright, joyous palette, which is complemented by her stylized approach and precise linework. Gilrein is active in the arts community in Boston, namely with emerging artists, spaces, and public art, and she often shows with the artist collective called ‘Based.’
