Statement

Jungian dream imagery, spiritual psychology, and historical aesthetics of the Catholic tradition are the major forces behind my paintings. The sense of antiquity along with a luminescent painterly effect lends a Baroque feel to the execution. My depiction of figures, animals, and landscape are reminiscent of the sacred metaphor within religious paintings combined with chaotic dreamscapes. The new series with symbols of Ladders and Balloons depict our many attempts to ascend our heavy laden existence to no avail until we realize like Dorothy that ‘There’s no place like home’ our true journey within.
